Dave Basham

Dave Basham (1913-1991) was an American business entrepeneur.

Born in Bell City, Missouri, Mr. Basham lived his youth at a farm. He also travelled frequently to nearby mid-western cities such as St. Louis and Chicago. In these two large cities, he was exposed to big city atmosphere.

Mr. Basham's favorite snacks were the corn dogs. He figured out that, while other foods such as hamburgers and ice creams had chain restaurants, corn dogs did not.

He set on an enterprise to create a hot dog restaurant. Soon after, he opened the first Hot Dog on a Stick restaurant.

The restaurant would flourish and have franchises across the United States. By the 1980s, Mr. Basham was a common among businessmen meeting guest speakers.

The restaurant chain that he creted is now arguably more famous for the lemonades they sell. Employees at the restaurants wear bright red and yellow uniforms, and can sometimes be spotted jumping on sticks; this is a mechanism used to make the restaurant's foods.
