David Abbott
D.L. "Tank" Abbott made his U.F.C. debut in Casper Wyoming in UFC number 6. In his opening fight against the extremely large John Matua he achieved an impressive knockout in a matter of seconds. Despite never winning a UFC title, Abbott achieved the status of one of the most popular UFC fighters ever. This status was do in part to his often impressive display of power and agression. Tank Abbott is famous for his direct and honest approach both in and out of the octagon. Tank Abbott has spoken extensively about his warrior status. He is proud of the fact that when he started street fighting the prize was often "going to jail" instead of winning a belt. Despite his frequent losses to more skilled fighters in the UFC, Tank remains a legend.
David "Tank" Abbott is a frequent participant in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has, as of this writing, a record of 8-10 in that promotion. He is well known for his strong striking and brawling skills.
Abbott gained notoriety mostly for his unothodox look and fighting style, more reminescent of a street fighter than a martial artist; despite this, he has several wins, mostly due to his solid punches. Typically he has limited ability to last in longer fights with more well trained opponents, losing matches where his brawling ability is limited.
Abbott worked as a Professional Wrestler with World Championship Wrestling; initally he was brought in as an opponent for Bill Goldberg, on the understanding he was a "legitimate" fighter, and could boost Goldberg's reputation. This feud never developed, and Abbott remained mostly a comedic wrestler, frequently being feautured in segments with the boy band parody stable, 3 Count.
