David Herd (footballer)

David Herd (born April 15, 1934 in Lanarkshire) was a Scottish football player. David was purchased from Arsenal by Manchester United in 1961. His first game for United would come against West Ham on August 19, 1961. David would help the club to the 1963 F.A. Cup and the 1965 and 1967 league championships. He would leave the club in 1967 with 144 career goals, good for 9th on the all-time club list.
