David Prowse
David Prowse, MBE (birth July 1, 1935 in Bristol, England) is a body-builder and weightlifter from the United Kingdom.
Outside the UK, he is most famous for playing the role of Darth Vader in the Star Wars epic, although James Earl Jones was dubbed over as Vader's voice. However, within the UK he is perhaps as well known as "Green Cross Code Man" as a result of his association with the Green Cross Code road safety campaign for children which ran between 1976 and 1990 and for which he received the MBE in 2000.
He played the Minotaur on in the 1972 Doctor Who serial The Time Monster .
In the upcoming film Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Hayden Christensen will wear the Darth Vader armor in Prowse's place.
