Digital Illusions CE

Digital Illusions CE (DICE) is a Swedish company that develops computer games. It was started by members of the former demo group "The Silents ". All members came from the small towns of Alvesta and Växjö. For a long time when the employees were also studying at Växjö University, the company's office consisted of a small dorm room. During these days the company developed many titles for the Amiga 500, such as Pinball Dreams, Pinball Fantasies and Pinball Illusions.

In 1998 the company was registred on the Swedish stock exchange market and has since then experienced tremendous growth. As of 2004 the total value of the company is estimated to approximately 55 million dollars. DICE signed a cooperation deal with Electronic Arts.

As of November 15, 2004, Electronic Arts was interested in buying the rest of Digital Illusions CE that it did not already own (19%). As of April 2005, the deal is still not complete, as Electronic Arts has not manage to acquire as much stock as it needs to complete the acquisition.
