Dikironium cloud creature

The Diakrome Cloud Creature is a creature from Star Trek. It was a noncorpreal lifeform that fed on hemoglobin. It killed over 200 members of the U.S.S. Farragut's crew, with one of the survivors being James T. Kirk. He later encountered the creature (in the TOS episode "Obsession") while the captian of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 and destroyed it with a anti-matter device and with the help of the son of the Farragut's captain. Species with hemoglobin were the primary targets for the creature; Mr. Spock wasn't affected as Vulcans have copper blood. It approached furtively with only a sweet-smelling trail to avoid it by. It then materialized and sucked its victim dry. However, the victim could later be brought back to life, all though that is the subject of debate.
