Dinosaur (movie)

(Redirected from Dinosaur (film))

Dinosaur is a feature film released in 2000 by The Walt Disney Company. It combines the use of live-action backgrounds with computer animation of prehistoric creatures, done by Disney's "Secret Lab" CGI department.

Plot summary

An Iguanodon egg is stolen from its nest by an Oviraptor, which starts it on a journey that ends it up an Lemur Island, an island inhabited by lemurs and other creatures. The lemurs are cautious about the dinosaur, but they nonethless take him and raise him.

Not long after the Iguanodon, Aladar, has grown up, disaster strikes. A huge mountain-sized asteroid falls into the ocean. The resulting fiery shockwave fries Lemur Island, but Aladar and his core family are able to escape.

They soon are attacked by a pack of velociraptors, but are rescued by a herd of dinosaurs heading for one of the only fertile places left on Earth after the asteroid impact, the breeding grounds. While the herd travels, they discover that they are being pursued by two large predatorial dinosaurs called Carnotaurus. The predators often meet up with the herd, and several dinosaurs are killed.

As they finally reach the walls surrounding the breeding grounds, they discover that their only way in has been blocked up. Aladar and some others make a hole in the wall and enter, but they soon discover that the rest of the herd is following the leader, Kron, in an attempt to scale the wall into the breeding grounds. Suddenly, they unexpectedly encounter one of the Carnotaurus. The hungry carnivore is discouraged from a meal by the herd, but then he spots Kron climbing the wall, and follows him up. The resulting battle kills both the carnotaurus and Kron. But they finally usher the herd in, where the eggs are laid and soon hatched.
