Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing is a 1987 movie starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, and featuring the late Jerry Orbach.

Filmed at Mountain Lake in Virginia and at Lake Lure in North Carolina, Dirty Dancing was distributed by Vestron Pictures .

Frances, or Baby (Grey), is an idealistic Jewish teenager vacationing with her wealthy family at Kellerman's, a fictional resort in the Catskill Mountains of New York in the summer of 1963. One evening stirring music draws her to the staff quarters, where "dirty dancing" is all the rage. Here she meets Johnny (Swayze), a gentile dance instructor, who is as experienced as she is naïve. Baby soon becomes Johnny's pupil in dance and in love. But the two are from different worlds, and Baby's father disapproves.
