Downhill Battle

Downhill Battle is a non-profit organization whose goal is to end the Big Four recording labels monopoly and build a fairer music industry. The group supports what they call "participatory culture" where everyone is a part of creating and sharing art and music.

Downhill Battle believes that the four major record labels have a monopoly that is bad for both musicians and music culture, but they also believe that they have an opportunity to change that. They also believe that they can use tools like filesharing to strengthen the role of independent record labels in the music industry.

They are also known for their projects such as Grey Tuesday, Banned Music , FreeCulture.org , Peer-to-Peer Legal Defense Fund , SueThePresident.com and more.
