Durindana
Durindana or Durandal is said to have been the sword of Hector and later Orlando (or Roland). In The Song of Roland the sword is said to contain within the hilt a tooth of Saint Peter, blood of Saint Basil, hair of Saint Denis, and a piece of the raiment of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In the poem, Count Roland attempts to destroy the sword to prevent it from being captured by invading pagans, but Durandal proves to be indestructable. It is believed that it is still in existence being preserved in Rocamadour.
According to a legend, the La Brèche de Roland was created by Roland's attempt to destroy the sword.
