E! (Entertainment Television) is an American cable television and direct broadcast satellite network. It was formed in 1987 as the Movietime channel.

E! emphasizes coverage of the celebrity-industrial complex ; contemporary film, television and music; entertainment awards shows; daily Hollywood news and gossip; and fashion. E! is available to 80 million subscribers in the U.S and 400 million homes internationally. E!'s sister channel is the Style Network.

E! has also licensed its name and brand identity to regional cable television networks in Latin America, Brazil, the Philippines and Israel.

Additionally, it has an evening news broadcast, E! News Live . The channel also delay broadcasts videotaped Howard Stern radio shows, and has been showing classic episodes of Saturday Night Live

As no camera's are allowed in the Micheal Jackson trial in California, E! use's the transcripts of the court case and actors to reenact the days proceedings, many people watch this at night because of the high profile of Micheal Jackson and the extreme chargers of Molestation against him, therefore it is a high rating show.
