Eärendur
Eärendur is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth.
He ascended the throne of Arnor in 777 T.A. after the death of his father Elendur.
He died in 861 T.A.. Eärendur had three sons, who all claimed the throne. To prevent civil war, the Kingdom of Arnor was split in the three parts Arthedain, Cardolan, and Rhudaur. His oldest son Amlaith became the first King of Arthedain.
Another Eärendur (b. 361 S.A.) was the younger son of Tar-Amandil, King of Númenor. He had a son Caliondo, who in turn had a son, Malantur. Malantur was apparently a possible heir to Tar-Aldarion, his cousin, but the law was changed so Aldarion's daughter Ancalimë would be the heir.
