E/R was an American television sitcom, which aired in 1984 and 1985. The series lasted only a single season, and should not be confused with the later medical drama series ER.
The show starred Elliott Gould as emergency room doctor Howard Sheinfeld. His colleague Eve Sheridan was played by Marcia Strassman in the pilot, and Mary McDonnell in the regular series. The cast also included Conchata Ferrell , Jason Alexander and George Clooney (who, ironically, later became a star of the drama ER.)
