EMoviX
eMoviX is a small bootable version of Linux, similar to Knoppix, that, when booted will automatically start playing all the video files stored in the root directory. eMoviX only occupies about 8 megabytes of space of the CD/DVD leaving the rest for video files. The video is played by a program call MPlayer, a popular open source movie player. EMoviX supports all the video formats the MPlayer does; this includes DivX, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV and RealVideo, among others. Subtitles are also supported. EMoviX will boot on computers that support x86 and has at least 36 megabytes of RAM.
Creating an eMoviX CD/DVD can be done with software such as MoviXMaker or K3b.
