Eastwood, New South Wales

Eastwood is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, located in the city of Ryde, about 15 kilometres north-west of the Central Business District. The name derives from the name of the Terry family residence, so called after Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, England.

Eastwood is home to the Granny Smith apple variety. This is celebrated each year with the Granny Smith Festival.

Eastwood is a harmonious multicultural suburb. Its commercial district is divided by a railway line, with numerous shops and restaurants run mostly by ethnic Chinese locating on one side, and those run by Koreans on the other side.

Eastwood used to have a lake which is now an oval. The lakeside road Uniting Church used to overlook the lake.
