Echolyn

Echolyn is a progressive rock band that defies categorization. Deftly blending progressive rock, jazz, rock, and power pop into a unique concoction, Echolyn's music draws you in by its uniqueness, insightfulness, complexity, and sense of humor. The band members were influenced by such artists as Genesis, Gentle Giant, Yes, Steely Dan, Jethro Tull, and The Beatles, among others.

The band started in the late 1980s in Eastern Pennsylvania (USA). After building a cult following regionally, Echolyn signed with Sony Records in the early 1990s, delivering its 3rd full length album and only major label release (As the World) in 1995.

Echolyn's relationship with Sony went south, and the band subsequently broke up. After working on various projects in the late 1990s, Echolyn re-formed to release an album (Cowboy Poems Free) on its independent label, Velveteen Records. Since that time, the band has released another album (Mei), a live performance on DVD (Stars and Gardens), and continues to work with side projects (such as Grey Eye Glances ).
