Ectopia
Ectopia is a displacement or malposition of an organ of the body. Most ectopia are congenital but some may happen later in life.
Types of ectopia
- Ectopia lentis - displacement of the crystalline lens of the eye
- Ectopia cordis - displacement of the heart outside the body during foetal development
- Crossed renal ectopia - both kidneys on the same side of the body
