Edward Marsh

Sir Edward Howard Marsh (November 18, 1872-January 13, 1953) was an English polymath, the sponsor of the Georgian school of poets and a friend to many individuals, including Rupert Brooke and Siegfried Sassoon. A classical scholar and translator, he edited five anthologies of Georgian Poetry between 1912 and 1922, and he became Brooke's literary executor , editing the latter's Collected Poems in 1918.

During the First World War, he was personal secretary to Winston Churchill, and tried to help Sassoon by introducing the two men. In 1939, he produced A Number of People, a memoir of his life and times containing his memories of those writers and politicians with whom he had associated.
