El Salvador national football team
The El Salvador national football team is the national team of El Salvador and is controlled by the Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol . They made two World Cups, but lost all six games, including a World Cup record 10-1 defeat against Hungary in 1982.
The Football War started after a qualifying game for the 1970 World Cup against Honduras. After massive rioting between the fans, on July 14, 1969, the Salvadorian army launched an attack against Honduras. A cease fire was put in effect six days later.
