Elmira is a census-designated place located in Solano County, California. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 205.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 205 people, 86 households, and 52 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 146.6/km² (378.5/mi²). There are 92 housing units at an average density of 65.8/km² (169.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 87.80% White, 1.46% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 1.46% Pacific Islander, 6.34% from other races, and 2.93% from two or more races. 26.34% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 86 households out of which 27.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.5% are married couples living together, 12.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.5% are non-families. 36.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 3.12.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.9% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 29.8% from 45 to 64, and 8.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 111.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 116.9 males.
