Emil Kostadinov
Emil Kostadinov (born August 12, 1967 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian football striker. He is most known for scoring two goals in a 1994 World Cup qualifier, eliminating the French national team.
Kostadinov scored 26 goals in 70 caps formed a redoubtable duo with Hristo Stoitchkov for the Bulgarian national team throughout the 90's, helping to lead them to a surprising fourth place finish at the 1994 World Cup. He is still hated by the French for his humiliating last-minute goal on November 17, 1993 at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris. The 2:1 defeat robbed France of a place in the championship held in the USA. Kostadinov also played in Euro 96 and 1998 World Cup. On the club level, Kostadinov played for CSKA Sofia, Deportivo de La Coruņa, FC Porto, Bayern Munich, Fenerbahįe, FSV Mainz, and UANL Tigres.
