Emperor Shun
The Emperor Shun (舜) (2258-2211 BC) was a lengendary leader of prehistoric China, among the Three August Ones and the Five Emperors. Born Yao Chonghua (姚重華). He was also known as Youyu-shi (有虞氏). He was given the leadership by Emperor Yao at 53 and died at 100, after giving his seat to Yu the Great. His capital was at Puban (蒲阪, today in Shanxi).
Also known as the Great Shun (大舜) or Yu Shun (虞舜).
