Eugène Schueller

(Redirected from Eugene Schueller)

Eugène Schueller was a chemist and the founder of L'Oréal, the world's leading company in cosmetics and beauty. He financed the French Nazi group La Cagoule whose meetings were held at L'Oréal headquarters. According to Forbes Magazine, La Cagoule carried out dozens of political assassinations for the benefit of the Nazis, among other crimes.

His daughter Liliane Bettencourt is the widow of André Bettencourt (who participated in Eugène Schuller's Nazi activities), and is currently the richest woman in France, with holdings estimated by Forbes Magazine at $18.8 billion. After WWII, Schueller assisted many French Nazis and war criminals in finding employment with L'Oréal, including Jacques Corrèze. Corrèze was the head of L'Oréal's US operation, L'Oréal USA (formerly Cosmair).
