Export-oriented industrialization
Export-oriented Industrialization is an system of economic development adopted by countries such as Japan and South Korea. The system focuses on building industrial industries that make exportable products. The government subsidizes these industries and gives them benefits to help them grow and succeed, which is sometimes referred to as "picking winners".
