Motto:

The Forbin is a Horizon class frigate of the French Marine Nationale, is planned to be commissioned in March 2006. She is the sixth vessel of the French Navy named after the 17th century admiral Claude Forbin-Gardanne.

She is the sister-ship of the Chevalier Paul.
