Fairchild

Fairchild is the name of a San Antonio, Texas (USA) -based aircraft manufacturer.
History
The company was founded by Sherman Fairchild in 1925 as Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing Company, based in Farmingdale, New York.
During the 1950s and 1960s it built 206 Fokker Friendships as the F-27 and FH227.
Later, the company built the A-10 Warthog.
In 1996, after the company's take over by Dornier, the company was renamed FairchildDornier.
Today, the company is known as M7 Aerospace .
