Fan club

(Redirected from Fanclub)

A fan club is a group that is dedicated to a well known person, group, idea (such as history) or sometimes even an inanimate object (such as a famous building). Run by fans, they devote considerable time and resources to supporting them (or it).

Today, many fan clubs have web sites to support their adoring efforts. These sites usually have photos and information on the object of their affection. For example, a fan site dedicated to Britney Spears, a singer, might have photos and information on her upcoming concerts.

Some examples of online fan clubs include:

  • The Internet Nirvana Fan Club [1], dedicated to the former band Nirvana
  • The Beach Boys Fan Club [2]
  • Apple Macintosh fan club [3]
