Ferry Building
The Ferry Building is a terminal for ferries that travel across the San Francisco Bay and a shopping center located on The Embarcadero in San Francisco, California. On top of the building is a large clock tower, which can be seen all along Market Street. It was widely used from when it opened in 1898 to the 1930s, when the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges were opened, providing an alternative to traveling by ferry across the Bay to San Francisco. Ferry service has continued to operate at a lesser rate to and from the Ferry Building since then.
