Flag of Western Sahara
The flag of Western Sahara has black and green stripes, typical of Islamic countries, with the crescent also being a Muslim symbol. Red is the color of Arab nationalism. The black stripe on the top is a political statement signifying Saharawi discontent with Moroccan occupation. Once Western Sahara is fully recognized as independent, the black and green will switch places. The resemblance between it and the proposed flag of Palestine is not intentional.
