Flatbush Avenue (Brooklyn)

(Redirected from Flatbush Avenue)

Flatbush Avenue is Brooklyn's signature Avenue. It runs from the Manhattan Bridge all the way to Jamaica Bay, where it becomes the Marine Parkway Bridge that connects the Far Rockaways in Queens to Brooklyn.

The diagonal path of Flatbush Avenue creates a unique street pattern in every neighborhood it touches. It is the central artery of the borough that carries traffic to and from Manhattan and past landmarks such as Juinor's , Long Island University, the Fulton Mall , the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Atlantic Terminal of the Long Island Railroad, Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Public Library, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, to name a few.

Flatbush Avenue creates the borders of neighborhoods such as Brooklyn Heights / Downtown Brooklyn, Prospect Heights / Park Slope, and Flatbush / East Flatbush ... among others. It also touches many other neighborhoods en route to Queens, namely Flatlands and East Flatlands .
