Franz Ketterer
Franz Anton Ketterer (1676-1749) was a German clockmaker.
Ketterer, one of the founding fathers of the Black Forest clockmaking industry in Germany, was born in the village of Schönwald . He is chiefly remembered for his invention of the cuckoo clock. His family carried on the business of clockmaking, and his German descendants continue to manufacture weather instruments.
