Frederick Ogilvie
Sir Frederick W. Ogilvie (died June 10 1949) was Director-General of the BBC from July 19 1938 (aged 45) to January 26 1942, and was succeeded by joint Director-Generals Cecil Graves and Robert W. Foot. He was knighted on June 10 1942.
Previously to joining the BBC, he was Professor of Political Economy and Vice-Chancellor of Queen's University in Belfast.
