Freestyle battle
Freestyle battles are usually contests (though they can occur spontaniously) where rappers "battle" each other in the form of improvised raps. The intention is to insult your opponent more cleverly than he or she insults you. Winners are often judged by simple audience response, though more structured battles can involve appointed judges.
