Frick Collection

The Frick Collection is an art museum located on Fifth Avenue facing Central Park in Manhattan, New York. It is housed in the former residence of Henry Clay Frick (1849-1919), which was designed by Thomas Hastings and constructed in 1913-1914.

The Frick is the preeminent small art museum in the United States, and displays on of the world's greatest collections of old master paintings. The Collection features some of the best-known paintings by European artists, major works of sculpture, as well as furniture, porcelains, enamels, and carpets.

Included in the Collection are Jean-Honoré Fragonard's masterpieces, "The Progress of Love", Rembrandt's most recognizable self-portrait, 3 Vermeers including "Mistress and Maid", Piero della Francesca's "St. John the Evangelist", and works by Bellini, Constable, Corot, Degas, El Greco, Goya, Holbein, Claude Lorrain, van Ruisdael, Titian, Turner, Van Dyck, Velázquez, and Whistler.
