Music

Although imbued with heavy metal and hardcore elements, the music of Funeral for a Friend is most conveniently classified as emocore.

History

Funeral For A Friend formed in early 2002, and recorded their debut EP Between Order And Model after having been together for just a few months. Released on Swansea's Atom label, the EP catapaulted the band to the cover of Kerrang! Magazine; a surprising feat which quickly landed them a record deal with Warner Music U.K.

The band's debut full-length album "Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation" was released in October 2003. Strangely, the LP was not given a concurrent U.S. release; instead, a seven-track mini-CD named "Seven Ways to Scream Your Name" (collecting non-album tracks from the earlier EPs) was issued in America by independent Ferret Records .

Meanwhile, Funeral for a Friend embarked on a series of high-profile touring engagements, including a series of European dates opening for Iron Maiden.
