Furinkan

Furinkan (風林館) is a fictional high school and community in the Ranma ½ anime and manga series.

Furinkan in Ranma ½ is a community in Nerima, Tokyo, Japan. It was created by famed manga artist Rumiko Takahashi for her series Ranma ½. The name means "wind forest hall".

All the main characters of the series live there and most attend the local high school. The town has several mysterious curio and antique shops that seem to just pop up there, as well as such restaurants as Ucchan's, serving okonomiyaki, Neko Hanten or the Cat Cafe, serving Chinese food, and of course the Tendo Dojo, home to the Tendo School of Anything Goes Martial Arts (also translated as Tendo School of Indiscriminate Grappling).

Furinkan is likely located near Tomobiki, which is also in Nerima, and whose characters have sometimes been spotted in Ranma ½ episodes.

Although Furinkan is a fictional community, some scenes in the manga have been shown to have been modeled on actual places in the real suburb of Shakuji-koen, located in the real Nerima Ward.
