G.C. Cameron

George Curtis "G.C." Cameron (born in Jackson, Mississippi) is an African-American soul and R&B singer.

Cameron was the lead singer of Motown act The Spinners during the late-1960s and early 1970s. He sings lead on their first big hit, 1970's "It's a Shame", and remained with Motown as a solo artist when The Spinners left Motown in 1971. Although Cameron he was not a major-seller for the label, he did have one successful hit: "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday", the theme song of the 1975 film Cooley High, which was later covered by Boyz II Men.

Cameron left Motown after the 1970s, and toured as an independent artist. He returned to The Spinners from 2000 to 2002, and in 2003 replaced Barrington “Bo” Henderson as the lead singer of another Motown act, The Temptations, with whom he currently performs.
