Future
A new version of the Gamma platform, dubbed SCCS (Small Common Components and Systems), is being codeveloped since 2002 by a team of Fiat and Opel engineers located in Turin. The platform will be shared across 2005 Fiat Punto, 2006-2007 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa and future Fiat Idea, Lancia Ypsilon and Lancia Musa . Even after the dissolution of the GM/Fiat partnership, both companies retain the rights to continue developing SCCS-derived models.
GM Daewoo is seeking to develop a variant of this platform as a replacement for their subcompact Chevrolet Aveo.
