Gmax

(Redirected from GMax)

Gmax is 3D modeling tool based on Discreet's award winning 3ds max used by professional computer graphics artists, gmax is, in essence, a simplified version of this tool. Gmax can be expanded by "game packs", which feature customized tools with the purpose of creating and exporting customizable content to games and websites. gmax, being a 3d modeling program, also comes with a rendering engine. This means that any object can be created, and, if the user has the skills, make the finished product as good or better than commercial game makers. Maxis was the first company to write a dedicated (yet hard to learn) renderer for their gmax gamepack, B.A.T (Building Architect Tool) for SimCity 4.
