Gamma Sigma Tau
Gamma Sigma Tau was formed in 1987 in New Paltz, NY when a group of young men re-established a prestigious fraternity called the Delphic Fraternity. The official name of the entity on campus was Delphic of Gamma Sigma Tau Fraternity.
The Delphic Fraternity, Inc. - Gamma Sigma Tau, was originally founded as the Delphic Society in 1871 in Geneseo, NY. With affiliations at other schools, the organization became known as The Delphic Fraternity, which in the early 1900s had eight active chapters in Geneseo, Oneonta, Jamaica, Cortland, New Paltz, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, NY and Mansfield, PA.
Today, the organization as an active alumni chapter based at SUNY-New Paltz and an active undergraduate chapter based at Binghamton Univerisity. Both represent the history and tradition of the oldest regional fraternity in New York State, one of the oldest fraternities in the country, and the first multicultural fraternity formed on the east coast.
