Gary M. Heidnik
Gary M. Heidnik was a serial killer who operated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA during the 1980s. He kept a harem of captive women in his basement at 3520 North Marshall Street in Franklinville, Philadelphia . His crimes were horrific and served as part of the inspiration for the character of Jame Gumb in The Silence of the Lambs. He was convicted of two murders, though it is believed he may be responsible for several more. He was executed in Pennsylvania on July 6, 1999 by lethal injection at 10:29 pm.
