Gaudy
A gaudy (from the Latin, "gaudere", meaning "to rejoice") is a kind of reunion, particularly associated with the colleges of Oxford and Cambridge. The origin of the term may be connected to the traditional University graduation song, Gaudeamus.
Gaudy celebrations normally take place during the summer vacation, and may include events such as speeches, lectures, concerts and dinners.
