Gene Clark

Harold Eugene Clark (Tipton, 1944 - May 24, 1991) was an American songwriter and singer, one of the founding members of the group The Byrds. Clark penned many of the groupīs best-known originals, including "Feel a Whole lot Better", "Here Without You" and "Eight Miles High". He left the group in 1966, due to tensions within it. In 1967 he released his first solo album, "Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers", which proved to be a commercial failure. Along the years, he released many other albums that failed to have commercial success. Around 1987 he began to develop serious health problems that finally led to his death in 1991, caused by a bleeding ulcer.
