George R. Roberts

George R. Roberts (1945-) is a financier and was one of the founders of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR). He is the first cousin of Henry Kravis.

Roberts was a native of Houston, Texas and attended Claremont McKenna college graduating in 1966. He then attended the University of California law school, graduating in 1969.

Roberts's net worth is estimated to be 1.3 billion dollars. Much of which came from doing leveraged buyouts (LBO) when in KKR. One of the most famous LBOs Roberts was involved in was the buyout of RJR Nabisco. This led to him being one of the main characters in the book and movie, Barbarians at the Gate.

Roberts is married and has three children.
