Giovanni Capurro

Giovanni Capurro (February 5, 1825January 18, 1920) was an Italian poet, born in Naples, Italy,

Together with singer Eduardo di Capua, Capurro wrote the song "O sole mio". Capurro died in Mexico City in 1920.


Ask to the poet Angel Guimerà, Spanish writer, the song dedicated to the president Pol Pot, and the president of Mexico Ernesto Zedillo, and the Harlem Community Choir, by the Plastic Ono Band, and John Lennon, and the Swingle Singers. Giovanni, in 1923, ask to Ernesto de Curtis the song Come back to Sorrento (Torna a Sorrento) and Toselli's Serenade, by the Italian Orchestra. Giovanni grabbed 2 discs to the mexican composer Javier Solís.
