Golden Dragon

Golden Dragon was the first video game boss. It was created for the computer game dnd about 1974 at Southern Illinois University on the PLATO System. The Golden Dragon had to be slain in order for the player to obtain the orb.
The idea for an all-powerful creature which had to be defeated to gain an immeasurable treasure came from the cover of the Dungeons and Dragons rule book, published in about 1974.
