Guadalupe bass
The Guadalupe bass (Micropterus treculii) is a species of freshwater fish in the sunfish family (Centrarchidae) of order Perciformes. One of the black basses, it occurs solely in several rivers on Edwards Plateau in Texas, including the Guadalupe.
M. treculii reaches a maximum recorded length of 46 cm (18 in) and a maximum recorded weight of 1.7 kg (3.7 lb).
A rare species, the Guadalupe bass was formerly classified as Vulnerable, but IUCN currently considers the data insufficient to determine its status.
It is the state fish of Texas.
