In the fictional Gundam universe, the Gwazine class battleship was developed by the Princepality of Zeon to be flagships for the various space fleet Admirals. Although they fill a role similar to that of the Federation's Magellan class battleships, the Gwazine class easily outclasses the Megellan class in several ways.

The Gwazine class ships have three massive beam turrets mounted topside, and have multiple anti-aircraft guns mounted below the bow, but the biggest weapon on the Gwazine class ships are their MS hangers. Each of these ships has room for up to twenty mobile suits, more than double what the Federation's Pegasus class ships can hold.

But the Gwazine class had several drawbacks. First, the ships were so large that only a handful were constructed before and during the war. Secondly, these vessels were bulky, hence manuvering them around the battlefield takes time. Lastly, although the ships were designed to carry mobile suits, the loss of skilled pilots became a problem as the war dragged on due to the loss of moral among the men.

At the end of the One Year War only one Gwazine class ship was still in service. That ship, the Gwaden, had been Admiral Aiguille Delaz's command vessels at A Ba A Quo, and when his fleet resigned from the battle this ship and several other Musai class vessls came to be known collectively as the Delaz Fleet. In UC 0083, this ship sailed as the flagship for Delaz's fleet as they put Operation Stardust into motion. Toward the end of the operation, this vessel was destroyed by Cima in her effort to escape Anavel Gato.
