HMAS Macquarie

HMAS Macquarie (K-532/F-532), named for the Macquarie River in New South Wales which is formed by the junction of the Fish and Campbell Rivers and flows into the Macquarie Marshes which drains into the Darling River, was a River class frigate laid down by Morts Dock and Engineering Company at Balmain in New South Wales, launched on 3 March 1945 and commissioned on 7 December 1945. HMAS Macquarie paid off on 17 March 1954 and was sold on 5 July 1962.
