HMS Galatea, 32 was a fifth-rate sailing frigate of the British Royal Navy.
Galatea was built by Parsons at Bursledon , and launched 17 May 1797.
Under Captain Sayer, she captured a French 10-gun schooner off Guadeloupe on 12 November 1806. Both ships had become becalmed, and Galatea dispatched her boats to row over and capture the other ship.
Galatea was broken up in May 1809.
See HMS Galatea for other Navy ships of this name.
